Don't get caught out with R22 .....replace it!

Because of its severe ozone depleting properties, Refrigerant 22, which for many years was the most commonly used refrigerant in water chillers, is now being phased out in accordance with EU Protocol.

Current legislation states that there will be a total ban on the use of virgin R22 by 2010 and a ban on the use of recycled R22 by 2015, but these thresholds could be advanced.

Those company's already facing up to environmental issues, may not be in a position to replace their "environmentally unfriendly" chiller now, or even when R22 is becoming scarce when perhaps from a mechanical standpoint, the chiller is still in good working order.

The solution to extending the life of your chiller is a refrigerant retrofit.

Alternative refrigerants are now available which have been developed to replace R22 but are benign in terms of damage to the environment and will not affect the performance of the chiller.
